Esso Ireland Limited is a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, the world's leading publicly-owned energy company. Exxon Mobil Corporation operates facilities or markets products in most of the world's countries.

In Ireland in 2010:

• we provided jobs for over 400 employees and more than 40 contractors
• we spent around €17.7 million on materials and services
• we paid €412 million in direct and indirect taxes and duties in 2010 - 1.3 per cent of total government revenue.

Marketing petroleum products:

• we supply around 10 per cent of all petroleum products used in Ireland
• products are supplied from distribution terminals in Dublin and New Ross
• we have a retail network of 125 Esso-branded service stations serving more than 80,000 customers a day
• we market world-leading motor oils - including our flagship oil Mobil 1 - and supply some 350 different types of lubricants for industry
• we supply jet fuel at Dublin airport
• we sell directly to over 200 major industrial and wholesale customers around the country and our network of authorised distributors sell to over 50,000 such customers.

Offshore oil and gas:

• ExxonMobil is the operator of one licence in the Porcupine Basin (Dunquin), a frontier area approximately 125 miles off the south-west coast.
