Safety-conscious ExxonMobil employees in Ireland are celebrating 21 years without a lost-time injury, helping the company achieve its global “Nobody Gets Hurt” goal.

Industrial & Wholesale, Aviation and Fuels Marketing teams within Esso Ireland have not experienced a safety incident that resulted in time away from work since September 1988.

Although this is not an outright record for groups within Esso Ireland, there is plenty to be pleased about. Ian Kidger, safety adviser for the UK and Ireland, said that the team’s safety performance has delivered a firm foundation on which to achieve business targets.

“Our teams in Esso Ireland have demonstrated that their safety performance is a key business driver,” he said. “No one safety initiative should be singled out – in Ireland we’re people focused and, through our people, we have achieved very high standards in safety.”

Through a number of safety initiatives at its worldwide sites, ExxonMobil strives for a working environment where “Nobody Gets Hurt” and where yearly accident rates are zero.
